(Kind Of) March Faves

Lifestyle

Hi. Hey. Hello. Bonjour. Salut. Ciou Adios I’m done. Me again.

I. Am. Back.

You may (or may not) have noticed that I’ve taken a little (slightly more than little) vacay from the old blogging world over the past few weeks (*cough* months *cough*) but do not fear – your gal is back. The suitcases are unpacked, the passport is away and I’m ready to write something that I hope turns out to be a little more than average. It’s been pretty crazy which meant that sadly my lil blog had to go into hibernation for a short while but the time has come for me to saddle up and get back on the horse (is that a saying or have I just made that up????). When I was thinking about how to break the seal – for want of a better phrase – it occurred to me that I haven’t posted a ‘monthly faves’ since OCTOBER last year so, naturally, here I am writing one. I’ll hold my hands up now, I may slightly cheat and include a few things that I’ve been loving throughout the past few months instead of just March as I haven’t written one of these posts in so long (pls forgive me and still love me).

What I’ve Been Wearing

Over the past month, I have been reaching for this pair of black flares a lot. I actually bought them a while ago but didn’t get much wear out of them to start with. Although now, if I’m going to any ‘smart-cas’ event, these trousers are an immediate go-to. They’re super flattering and obviously go with pretty much any top I’m feeling. I recently wore them to a Glitterbomb event at my Students’ Union where Alyssa Edwards from RPDR was performing (yaaaaas!!). These trousers are a pretty flexible piece: they can be dressed down, with a cute cropped t-shirt and converse or if you whack on a little halter-neck and heels, you’re ready for a night of boogie-ing somewhere slightly more upmarket than your SU.

What I’ve Been Watching

So my biggest TV obsession over the past few months has 100% been Grey’s Anatomy. I cannot lie to you, (this even impresses myself) I managed to finish all 13 seasons available on Amazon within a two and a half week period (slightly embarrassed, slightly proud). I just bloody loved everything about the show – the amount of times I was sat in my room sobbing like an absolute loser with nothing better to do on a Friday night was not ok. I fell in love with all of the characters and honestly felt slightly lost once I’d reached the end.

Aside from GA, I also watched Victoria. If you know me, you’ll know my two favourite types of TV programmes are crime-related or historical dramas. Whack anything on that is set in any era from the past and I am your gal. So, when I saw Victoria had come onto Netflix, I was probably more happy than any regular person would have been. I’d been wanting to watch it when it first came out on ITV but I never found the time during my first year at uni. I watched the entire first season within the space of a few days then ordered the Season 2 DVD from Amazon straight away. I’m so obsessed with Jenna Coleman and when I found out that she is actually dating her co-star Tom Hughes I may have cried a little bit (with joy). Cannot WAIT for Season 3.

What I’ve Been Listening To

Where to even begin with the music I’ve been listening to…although I can’t lie, it’s pretty much all been MT (what’s new??). I’m currently in rehearsals for a production of ‘The Last Five Years’ so have been using that as an excuse to get my daily dose of being serenaded by Jeremy Jordan. My go-to picks are ‘Shiksa Goddess’ and ‘If I Didn’t Believe in You’. I’ve also been obsessing over Lin & Ben Platt’s ‘Found/Tonight’ collab which is just too dreamy for words. Aside from this, Dogfight has been played on the reg – I espeically love ‘Come to a Party’ and ‘First Date / Last Night’.

What I’ve Been Using

Beauty-wise, I haven’t really been Captain Adventurous throughout 2018 so far. I got a few makeup bits for Christmas which have made their way into my daily routine, but other than that it’s been pretty samey. Having said that, I’ve fallen slightly in love with two products in particular: the Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes palette (which I’m preeeetty sure I’ve spoken about before) and the Cover FX Highlighting Drops. I’ll insert a few pics where I’ve used both of these products – although they’re both on the slightly spenny side of life, they’re most definitely worth the investment!!

What I’ve Been Doing

I don’t even know to where to begin. I feel like I’ve blinked and 3 months have flown by. It’s been another whirlwind semester at university, with the majority of my time being taken up by rehearsals (nothing new here friends). I performed in Musical Theatre Society’s production of ‘The Wedding Singer’ at the beginning of March, whilst also beginning rehearsals for Music and Drama Society’s ‘The Last Five Years’ which opens in May.  Due to all these rehearsals, my social life has boarded the hibernation train but I’ve slowly been starting to feel it waking up over the past few weeks or so. HOWEVER, in true Georgia style, I couldn’t say no to a few nights out here and there.

My brother turned 21 last week so (naturally) there were celebrations. My family and I went to London for the day, watched School of Rock and ate reaaaaally good food. I’m taking him to see Kinky Boots this weekend which I’m also super excited about!! I’m now on Easter break and am so looking forward to being an absolute slob, trying to make my way through as many TV series as humanly possible in the few weeks I have off.

I hope you all have a lovely Easter weekend & enjoy relaxing over the break. (Virtually) see you – hopefully – very soon!

What I Got For Christmas 2017

beauty, Lifestyle

IMG_2548

I’m going to start with the typical, blogger opening you’ve probably already read at least 20 times, but I can’t believe we’re almost at the end of 2017. Honestly, for me, this year has flown by. I’m a good-way into my second year at university (which means scary life decisions are looming) and I’m almost a third of the way through my final year as a teen (equally as scary!!). I just want to quickly apologise for my absolute failure of an attempt at doing ‘Blogmas’ – I had every good intention but the practicality of uni deadlines and the general life rush that occurs during the lead up to Christmas defeated me. I’m super sad because I had some really cute posts planned, but I guess that’ll give me a reason to attempt it again next year! Thankfully, life has calmed down a little bit now which means I’m back to blogging – I have a few posts planned for the next few weeks that are New Year-related so I hope you enjoy reading those. For now, I’d love to share with you a few of the bits I received for Christmas this year.

Sephora Favorites ‘Give Me Some Nude Lip’ – Sephora

IMG_0879IMG_1306

If you read my Christmas Wishlist post, you’ll know that this Sephora gift set was something I had my eye on. My parents went to New York just before Christmas so I was super excited at the prospect of getting a few makeup bits that are harder to get your hands on the in the UK. I think these sets are a really good way of testing out new brands before you pay full price for a product you may not really like. All of these lip products are gorgeous but my favourite (surprisingly for me) is the Ciaté London Liquid Velvet Lipstick.

Sephora Favorites ‘Glow For It’ – Sephora

IMG_4772IMG_4351

I am so bloody excited about this set. Highlighters are up there with my favourite category of makeup products and I’ve been wanting to try some of these brands for the longest time. I’ve heard nothing but good things about BECCA highlighters and I’ve always wanted to try the Cover FX drops. On Christmas day, I combined both of them which left me with the most blinding highlight that I was LIVING for. I’m super excited to try out the rest of these products.

MAC Snowball Pigment and Glitter Kit – MAC Cosmetics

IMG_4302

Again, I’m super excited to have received this cute little MAC set. I’ve never tried their pigments before but I used the champagne-y colour yesterday and I was very happy with it. I’m excited to use the white sparkly pigment soon and am planning to use the gold glitter for New Year’s Eve. These pots should last me a little while as you only need to use the tiniest amount so I think they’re pretty good value. I know MAC have 10% off most products today in the Boxing Day Sales so it would definitely be worth trying to get your hands on this!! They also do a ‘Pink’ version which, as the name suggests, has more pink-y coloured pigments and glitters. I went with the ‘Gold’ set as I tend to wear oranges, browns and burgundys on my eyes.

Too Faced ‘Just Peachy Mattes’ Palette – Sephora

I’ve been obsessed with this palette ever since it dropped with the rest of the ‘Peaches and Cream’ range by Too Faced. Unbelievably, I’ve never tried Too Faced shadows before so I was really excited to receive this. The colours are right up my street – I could happily just use this palette forever. I used this palette on Christmas Day and was really pleased with the pigmentation and how easily the shadows blend. If you want me to recreate the look for a blog post (see below) let me know – I was pretty pleased with how it turned out!

IMG_7666

Grey and Black Nike Trainers – Nike

IMG_5090IMG_3262

These trainers are actually one of my favourite prezzies, as they were a complete surprise. I love the colours as they will literally go with any outfit and they’ve come into my life at the perfect ‘January gym-going’ time. They’re super comfy as they are meant for running, although I will probably just be wearing them on the day-to-day. I will definitely be getting a lot of use out of these as I pretty much live in trainers at both university and home. My Mom did well here!!

Striped Calvin Set – Calvin Klein

IMG_0595

If you know me, you’ll know I’m obsessed with Calvins. They’re just so comfy and I love the look of them, so I was really happy to get this set. I’ve never actually seen this pattern before and I fricking LOVE it. I’m super excited to add this set to my growing collection.

Burgundy Kate Spade Rucksack & Purse – Kate Spade NY

I’m still a little bit in shock about these two presents as I wasn’t expecting them at all. Recently, I’ve been obsessed with rucksacks and if you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll know I have a major soft-spot for anything Kate Spade. I’m absolutely in love with the colour of this bag and purse – it’s perfect for the Winter months. Also, I’ve been needing a new purse as my Ted Baker one has been used to death. So yay!!! Absolutely in love.

Those are a few of the lovely presents I received this year. What did you get?

I hope you had a great Christmas!

Lots of love,

Beauty Bay Wishlist: Palette Edition

beauty

Juvia’s Place – The Saharan Palette

£30.00

screen-shot-2017-10-20-at-15-31-11.jpg

I’ve been wanting to try products from Juvia’s Place for SO LONG. When they first became popular a month or so ago, I logged on to Beauty Bay to purchase a palette (as they are relatively cheap for a high-end brand, in my opinion) but they were all – heartbreakingly – sold out. I love all of the palettes but the Saharan is definitely my fave as I feel the colours are ones that I know I could/would use on a daily basis. I particularly love the look of the colours Sokoto, Jamila and Senegal. I’ve seen Holly Boon swatch a few Juvia’s Place palettes and the pigmentation looks INSANE. This will definitely be my next Beauty Bay purchase.

Morphe 25A Copper Spice Eyeshadow Palette

£19.00

Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 15.36.08

Like Juvia’s Place, I’ve wanted to try a Morphe palette for so long. I’m obsessed with their liquid lipsticks so I have no doubt I would love their eyeshadows also. With my go-to palettes being the ABH Modern Renaissance and my Z-Palette I feel like I’ve forgotten how much I love using neutral, brown shades on my eyes. So I think this palette would be perfect as it features pretty much every shade of brown you can imagine. I’m also obsessed with the 3 gold/copper shimmer shades – they look like an absolute dream. For £19, this palette seems like a steal to me.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Sugar Glow Kit

£39.00

Screen Shot 2017-10-20 at 15.33.41If you’ve read any of my makeup-related blog posts before, you’ll know that I’m basically ABH’s biggest fan. So it may be pretty shocking that I’ve never tried any of their glow kits…I’ve just never been able to justify spending £40 on highlighters when I know I love my £3 Makeup Revolution version. However, the newest addition to the glow kit collection has definitely caught my eye. I think the names are all so cute and the shades are gorgeous. I’m quite a pale little soul so a lot of the previous glow kits would have been waaaaay too dark for me. I was obsessed with the Sun Dipped palette but there is no way I could have worn those colours without looking odd. I love the look of Butterscotch and Marshmallow.

So those are a few of the palettes from Beauty Bay I’ve got my eye on at the moment. What have you been loving?

What I Wore: Black Cropped Wide Leg Trousers

IMG_6031

Throughout September, I’ve been loving wearing my black wide-legged trousers from Miss Selfridge. I’m pretty sure these were around the £25.00 mark which I thought was amazing for trousers of such good quality. They’re super comfy but also look smart so you’re basically winning at life when wearing them. You can wear them dressed-up (as pictured) or can throw on a cute cropped t-shirt and converse for a more day-to-day outfit. I definitely think these trousers were an investment piece that I can always come back to and rely on if I’m in need of a quick, super cute outfit. Yaaaaaaas to these.

What I Watched: RuPaul’s Drag Race (for the second time)

I’ve always been a big fan of Drag Race, having watched every season religiously on Netflix. However, I’ve recently rediscovered my love for the show and have been re-watching every single season. I’m currently on season 8. Some of my fave Queens from all of the seasons are Raja, Alaska, Alyssa Edwards, Adore, Pearl, Violet Chachki and Naomi Smalls.  It’s such an easy show to watch when I’m just chilling in my room or to have on in the background when I’m getting ready. Loooooove it.

What I Listened To: Dua Lipa / Hamilton

This past month I’ve become completely obsessed with Dua Lipa. Whenever I’m listening to music, it will be her album I’m playing. My faves are IDGAF and No Goodbyes. She’s also so gorg I actually cannot cope and her acoustic covers are INSANE.

From an MT perspective, I’ve been loving Hamilton. I know I’m very late to the party but I honestly couldn’t make myself love it when it was first around (and I tried so hard!!!). But NOW, I am actually too in love with the soundtrack. My fave songs at the moment have to be Satisfied, Burn and Say No To This.

What I Read: Colleen Hoover

During September, I went on two holidays to Portugal meaning I had loaaaaaads of time to read again (which made me very happy). I’ve read a few books by Colleen Hoover before and knew I enjoyed them so wanted to get my hands on some of her other novels. The two I particularly enjoyed were ‘Maybe Someday’ and ‘Confess’.

What I Used: Backstage Lashes

IMG_6311IMG_6313IMG_6312

This month I purchased some falsies from the brand ‘Backstage Lashes’ for the first time. I wasn’t too sure what to expect as the products retail at £6.00 a pair but I’d heard lots of good things. I bought the pairs Chelsea and Soho and I was very pleasantly surprised. Both lashes lasted the entire night on a night out without having to be re-glued and the band is thin so, not only are they easy to apply, they look like they could actually be your lashes. For £6.00 each I would 100% recommend this brand – I will most definitely be purchasing some more.

What I Did:

IMG_5971

I hope you’ve all had a lovely September – mine has been pretty crazy as always!! I just want to apologise for the lack of posts recently (I’m the actual worst) – I’ve moved back to uni now so they should be coming more regularly again. I have some exciting Autumnal-themed posts planned so keep an eye out!!

Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks: Worth The Hype?

beauty, GIRLS

IMG_6289

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know that Rimmel have recently launched their own take on a liquid lipstick. The Stay Matte Lipsticks retail at £5.99 each in Superdrug. Having only recently really got into wearing a liquid lip, I thought I’d give these a go and see if they are worth the hype.

I picked up three different shades, ranging from VERY nude to a hot pink. The reason I did this was to see whether the formula was consistent when the colour was darker. The shades I picked up were 710 – Latte To Go, 110 – Blush and 820 – Heartbeat.

IMG_6292

When I swatched them in-store, I was pleasantly surprised by how creamy the formula felt and how nice the applicator was. However, once I got home and tried them on I started to question how much I liked them. When applied onto the lips, the lipsticks (particularly Blush) needed more than one layer, because they looked patchy with just a single coat. This was absolutely fine to begin with as the formula applied with what seemed to be quite a shiny, creamy finish. However, once the lipsticks had dried, they looked extremely patchy which left me loving life a little bit less.

The darkest shade, Heartbeat, which I was most excited about bled into and OVER my lipliner. Let me tell you now, this was not a cute look for me. Blush was the patchiest of the three (as you can probably tell from the swatch photo) whilst I ended up not loving the colour of Latte To Go (MAJOR foundation-lip vibes were occurring). I’m actually really sad that I didn’t love these products as much as I thought I would. I’d definitely recommend you try them as the formula may work better for you, but for me – a gal with relatively dry lips – they did not bring enough hydration.

I think I’ll be sticking to my Morphe Liquid Lipsticks (which are INSANE) in the future.

What I Wore: Oversized MOTO Blue Denim Jacket

Although this is quite a basic piece, it has recently become a staple in my wardrobe. This jacket retails at £45 in Topshop but I managed to snag it for £22 in the sale (a moment I am still very proud of!!). The reason I’ve been loving this jacket so much is that it literally goes with ANY outfit. Going out for a meal? Pair it with a skirt and cute t-shirt. Having a chill day? Wear it with joggers and trainers (as pictured). I just love the look it gives an outfit and I’m currently looking into purchasing the same jacket but in black. Looooove this.

What I Watched: How To Get Away With Murder

I realise I’m super late on the bandwagon with loving this show but it’s been on my Netflix list for ages and I’ve finally had the chance to start watching it…and I am completely obsessed. If you know me you’ll know I love anything crime-related, be that documentaries or films so I find the criminal law aspect of the show fascinating. I’ve wanted to find a series for so long that grips me in the way that Pretty Little Liars did (well the first 5 seasons, the rest were questionable!!) and I have finally found that. I would 100% recommend this show to anyone looking for something new to watch that is gripping and leaves you clicking the ‘skip to next episode’ WAY before the 10 second time limit is up (lol this is me). If that isn’t reason enough, the show also features Viola Davis who is a freaking QUEEN.

What I Read: One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M McManus

As with TV shows, I’d hit a bit of a lull with reading. I had been unable to find any books that piqued my interest…until I read this one. One Of Us Is Lying is the debut novel by Karen M McManus. It centres around four students: Addison, Nate, Cooper and Bronwyn. The book begins in detention where all four of these students have ended up coincidentally..including a fifth student named Simon. Simon is the writer of an ‘anonymous’ blog that leaks students’ secrets that are circulating through their high school. During detention, Simon dies suddenly, leaving Addison, Nate, Cooper and Bronwyn prime suspects to what is classified as a murder.

I thought this book would be pretty average but I ended up finishing it on the train journey home the same day it was purchased. It really was a page-turner and was something a little different to what I usually read. I will definitely be purchasing Karen M McManus’ next novel.

What I Listened To: Julia Michaels / Taylor Swift

Album-wise, I’ve been listening to Julia Michaels’ Nervous System. I’ve always loved the singles she has released so thought I’d give her album a nosey. It’s your typical girly album with empowering lyrics that are impossible not to sing along to. My fave songs would have to be Just Do It and Pink.

I have also been listening to Taylor Swift’s new song, Look What You Made Me Do. My friend Katie and I absolutely loooove Taylor Swift so I was really excited for the release of her new song. Whilst I didn’t initially LOVE it, it has definitely grown on me and I cannot waaaaait for the album in November.

What I Used: Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

IMG_5394

In the month of August, I FINALLY purchased my own Z Palette and have started filling it with Makeup Geek eyeshadows. I’m completely obsessed with the formula and the way the shadows blend together…definitely some of my favourite shadows. Some of the shades I’ve been reaching for the most have to be Chickadee (warm yellow), Mango Tango (orangey-red) and Morocco (deeper orangey-red). These shadows retail at £4.95 per pan on Beauty Bay so I will warn you that although it may seem like you’re not spending much…the total soon adds up (as my bank account sadly found out!!). I can’t wait to complete my little Z Palette and move onto the next one.

What I Did:

I know I say this every month, but August has honestly been pretty mad: I finished my summer job (yay!!), took one of my besties – Allie – to see The Book Of Mormon in London for her birthday and then watched Half A Sixpence with my Mom. I then celebrated my 19th birthday and performed in my final show with my MT company back at home (veeeeery emotional) and I had the best time. Moreover, it is fiiiiiiiinally time for my family holiday to Portugal, which is why this blog post is actually going up a little early. So, I’m super excited for that!!! Although August has been amazing, I am really looking forward to September as I LOVE AUTUMN and I get to see all my little uni friends again…SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!!

I hope you’ve had a lovely August!!

ABH Subculture: First Impressions

beauty

IMG_5754.jpg

If you’ve read my 19th birthday post, you’ll know I received the extremely controversial ‘Subculture’ palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I was super excited to try this out and to see whether all the negative things I’d been hearing about this product were true.

Appearance-wise, the palette is gorgeous. I love the blue and mustard yellow combination on the packaging and was really intrigued by the colour combination of the shadows. The Modern Renaissance was definitely a more ‘typical’ palette for me, the shades being slightly safer as I’m used to using more warm-toned shadows. But, I loved the Autumn vibes Subculture was giving and wanted to branch out and start creating different makeup looks.

IMG_5566IMG_5561

The first thing I did when I opened the palette was swatch the shadows. Of course, being ABH, they were EXTREMELY pigmented and all of the swatches seen pictured are only one swipe-worth of product. I’ve heard others labelling them ‘chalky’ which, I have to admit, I did find but only in certain shadows (mainly the darker ones but also Roxy). However, I wasn’t too surprised or appalled at this as I found exactly the same with my Modern Renaissance palette.

IMG_5568

When applying the shadows, I did find them harder to blend and work with than the Modern Renaissance and other products (such as my Makeup Geek eyeshadows), but they are not the worst things I’ve ever used on my eyes. The colour pay off is amazing, due to the pigmentation and I especially like shades such as Roxy, All Star and New Wave. I’ve found it possible to still create my go-to ‘burnt orange smoky eye’ look, which I tend to do as a quick, day-to-day situation on my eyes, whilst I am also able to create some brand new, pretty cool looks. I’ve been loving using the green shades particularly and am planning on uploading a khaki-inspired smoky eye look very soon!!

The one thing I am a little disappointed with about this palette is the shimmer shades. In my MR, the shimmers were some of my favourite shades in the entire palette so I was super excited when I saw the colours that Subculture contained. Cube is a gorgeous white shimmer with a pink reflect whilst Electric is a greeny-gold shimmer (which I was most excited about). Whilst Adorn – a deep gold shimmer – had decent colour pay off (only when applied with my finger), the other two were practically invisible on the eye. I’ve tried applying them dry, wet, with different brushes and my finger and each time the result is just as poor. Because of this, I tend to use the mattes from this palette then dip into my Z palette for a more pigmented shimmer shadow.

Overall, I’d rate this palette a solid 7/10. I love ABH and will continue to buy their eyeshadow palettes in the future. Whilst I’m not LIVING for this palette, I do still like it but it hasn’t topped my MR.

What are your thoughts on the Subculture palette?

Bicester Village: Mini Haul

fashion, Lifestyle

I am sat here, yet again, wondering why I spend money like it’s going out of fashion; I have a serious problem. Visiting Bicester Village, on what was supposed to be a ‘let’s just see if there is anything nice and then leave without spending any money’ trip, I ended up making a few little purchases (absolutely no shock to anybody).

IMG_5729IMG_5730

First of all, I picked up two products from The Cosmetics Company Store. I decided to try the Clinique Superprimer (“colour corrects redness”). I picked this up as I’m yet to actually purchase a high-end primer and I’ve used Clinique skincare products before (and loved them). Also, I sometimes get red patchy areas on my face so wanted to check out if it actually cancels out any redness. This product retails at £22.00 but I managed to snag it for £15.50 (yaaaaas I know, go on gal)!!!!!

IMG_5732IMG_5733

Next, I was on the hunt for a lip gloss and the Bobbi Brown ones immediately caught my eye. I knew I wanted a light coloured gloss so ended up choosing the shade 11 – Almost Nude which is a gorg light nude. Another steal: the original price of this product was £19.50 and I paid £13.75. I am all about that discount!!!

IMG_5724IMG_5726

Finally was my last and favourite purchase. This was definitely not something I needed but there was no way on Earth I could have left the shop without this…I actually ended up buying myself another Kate Spade bag!!! It’s the most adorable little rucksack I have ever seen in my entire existence. I’ve never really been into the whole rucksack trend but I honestly now feel like my entire life has changed (maybe slightly dramatic). I literally CANNOT get over how cute the print is, the size is and just how freaking adorable the entire bag is. It’s the perfect size to fit my purse, phone and lipstick in. It’s official. I’m in love with a bag. Real love.

So those were all my buys from Bicester. I promise I did pretty well not buying anything else (I was very tempted!!!) so I’m going to give myself a little pat on the back for that. I do think that my bank can rest easy for a while as I’m putting myself on a shopping ban until further notice…(unsure how long this will last)…

Unicorn Lashes: Review

beauty

IMG_5427

In a recent little splurge on Beauty Bay, I purchased some Unicorn Lashes after seeing them everywhere online over the past few weeks. I wasn’t too sure what to expect as it’s a brand I hadn’t heard a lot about until more recently, but I was pleasantly surprised.

IMG_5434

First of all, can we just take a moment to appreciate how freaking CUTE the packaging is??? I’m literally still not over it. I love the colour palette and the design really adds to the brand identity (which is one of the most adorable I’ve come across). I chose the pair ‘Flutter’ which retail at £10.00 a set, however other styles can range up to £23.50 so depending on the look you’re going for, these lashes can be pretty pricey. However, I thought £10.00 was reasonable for an independent, high-end brand so I thought I’d try them out.

IMG_5435

The lashes applied relatively easily, though the lash band was slightly thicker than other brands (such as Eyelure and Ardell). This made it a little harder to get the lash to stay glued to the inner corner and not start to peel off (which is my pet hate!!!) but it was nothing a bit of patience couldn’t resolve. Once the lashes were on though, I fell in LOVE. They are so distinctive and suuuuper pretty; I’ve never worn anything like them before. I definitely think they are worth £10.00, if not more, as I will most likely get multiple uses out of them due to the thick band.

I’ll definitely be purchasing more of these lashes in the future and also want to try their brush sets, which look insane.

ZOEVA Matte Spectrum Palette

beauty

IMG_5087

It’s official. I have found the new love of my life in the form of an eyeshadow palette.

I’d been eyeing up the ZOEVA Matte Spectrum palette for a looooong while as it sat in my Beauty Bay basket whilst I counted down the days until payday. I’d never tried ZOEVA eyeshadows before, but the Cocoa Blend palette had been recommended to me numerous times. So, when I saw the colours in the Matte Spectrum palette, I knew I had to try it. Retailing at £28.50, it sits comfortably between high-street and higher-end palettes and I can wholeheartedly confirm that it is worth every. Single. Penny.

IMG_5088

The palette contains a real mixture of matte shades meaning many different looks can be created. I was drawn to it initially by the orangey/red shades (typical) but also loved the look of the greens. The pigmentation is amaaaazing and the formula is super creamy so the shadows blend really well. I feel like this is such a good ‘starter’ palette as you can create an everyday natural look or you can go crazy (which is sometimes an accidental thing in my case) and end up going to Tesco looking ready for a night out!

I am absolutely LIVING for this palette at the moment and will definitely be purchasing more ZOEVA products in the future.

I’m open to suggestions of what to try next!
